This is OGU/BOLO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, HEADQUARTERS, OGU Town in Rivers State, Nigeria. 

HISTORY 

Ogu/Bolo Local Government was carved out of present-day Okrika local government area on 1st October, 1996, during the regime of ...... alongside other local government areas. 

Occupation:

The people are predominantly fishermen from origin, as their occupation. 

CONSTITUENTS OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT 

All over the world, it is widely noted that several communities make up the local government, while the local governments make up a State and States make up a Country.

These Wards as at to the 10th Day of December, 2024, we have twelve (12) Councils that make up Ogu/Bolo LGA, which include

* Bolo

* Koko-ama

* Ele

* Wakama

* Ikpo-ama

* Owu-ogono, etc

The local government is made up of twelve wards, each represented by a Councillor since inception.

ZONING OF CHAIRMANSHIP 

Before the inception of the Local Government, there was mutual agreement and mou signed by the two major communities (Ogu and Bolo) to rotate the Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship positions, including Secretary to the LGA.

This Memorandum of Understanding has been working well to the benefit of the citizenry. This is a welcome democratic development.

GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION 

The local government is located near the Atlantic Ocean bordered by Okrika local government area, Eleme local government ,etc.
